AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY

Automotive Technology Programs:

 

Associate of Science, Automotive Technology

To earn an Associate of Science Degree, Automotive Technology Students will complete the following:

  Required Major Courses UNITS
AUTO51A Introduction to Automotive Technology 4
AUTO52 Automotive Electrical Systems 4
AUTO53 Automatic Transmissions and Transaxles 4
AUTO54 Automotive Brakes 4
AUTO55 Suspension and Steering 4
  Major Courses Total (minimum) 20
Plus the following General Ed & Elective courses UNITS
General Education coursework (typically 1-3 units per course) 27
Elective coursework (may include additional AUTO courses) 13
Total Units Required for Associate Degree (minimum) 60

 

Certificate of Achievement, Automotive Technology

Provides entry-level marketable skills that give the student a basic understanding of terminology, tools, equipment, materials and techniques used in automotive repair. Students will have the fundamental skills required to gain employment in the automotive industry. See Certificate Programsfor additional information and/or requirements for this certificate type.
