President's Bio

Since 2017, Eva has been serving as Superintendent-President of Barstow Community College. She began her career in the California community college system over 30 years ago as a Research intern and Adjunct Instructor at Southwestern College in Chula Vista. She later joined Barstow Community College as the Director of Institutional Research and then as Full-time Instructor of Anthropology. Next, she served as Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Student Success at Long Beach City College for ten years before returning to Barstow Community College. Eva holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Pomona College and became a Fulbright scholar while earning her doctorate in anthropology from the University of California, San Diego. Prior to her work in community colleges, Eva worked as a research scientist at the Institute for Research on Learning in Palo Alto, California and later as a workplace anthropologist at Pitney Bowes Advanced Concepts and Technologies in Connecticut.
