The Barstow Family Gift in partnership with Barstow Reads invites the Barstow community and Barstow Community College students to participate in the Share Your Story Video Contest.
Barstow Reads is modeled on the One Book One Community model with the chosen book of There There, a Pulitzer Prize finalist novel written by Tommy Orange.
There There follows a large cast of Native Americans sharing their stories that weave together with a multitude of themes throughout the novel.
As Dene Oxendene, a character in the novel, is an aspiring documentary filmmaker who is seeking people’s stories, we are seeking your story in a 3-5 minute video submission with the opportunity to win cash prizes!
The 2024 Share Your Story Video Contest will accept entries from March 20, 2024, through April 24, 2024 at 5:00 pm PST.
