The Barstow Area Consortium for Adult Education proudly celebrated 112 graduates during its commencement ceremony held on Saturday morning, May 16, 2026. Graduates from Barstow Adult School, Baker Valley Adult School, and Barstow Community College were recognized for earning their high school diploma or GED — a major accomplishment that reflects their hard work, determination, and commitment to their future.
The ceremony featured special guest speaker Karina Tovar, an NFL referee who made history as the first Latina female official in the NFL. A daughter of Mexican immigrants and a Southern California native, Tovar has become a trailblazer in professional sports through her dedication, discipline, and perseverance. Her inspiring message encouraged graduates to continue pursuing their dreams, overcome challenges, and embrace every opportunity ahead.
Family members, friends, faculty, and staff gathered to honor the graduates and celebrate this important milestone in their educational journey. The morning was filled with pride, inspiration, and excitement as students reflected on how far they have come and looked ahead to future goals in education, career advancement, and personal growth.
The Barstow Area Consortium for Adult Education is honored to celebrate the achievements of these students and remains committed to supporting adult learners throughout our communities. We congratulate the Class of 2026 and look forward to all they will accomplish in the years ahead.
