Barstow, CA – The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Department of Barstow Community College (BCC), and Excelsior Charter Schools Barstow CTE Academy, are hosting a combined, annual CTE Open House and Car Show this Saturday, November 18th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s FREE to the public. “Everyone, the whole community, is invited to come and participate,” said Sandi Thomas, Dean of Instruction – CTE/Workforce and Economic Development, at BCC.
Dean Thomas, offered, “The public is invited to tour our CTE facilities, and learn about the educational opportunities and technical training available through the college.” Chris Clarke, spokesperson of the college, added, “This annual event was a great success last year. We had more than 75 cars entered in the competition, and we expect even more cars this year.”
The FREE Car Show will be in the parking lot of the Excelsior Charter Schools and BCC’s CTE building at 1501 State Street in Barstow. Participants in the car show will be entered to win trophies:

Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, BBQ Ribs and Tacos are on the menu for lunch. Vendor booths will be offering an assortment of goodies. It will be great fun for the children too – Face Painting, Hair Cuts, Opportunity Drawings and more! The net proceeds will go toward student scholarships. Local residents who are interested in learning more about the specific CTE courses and classes that will be offered during the Spring Semester (which begins on January 8, 2018) can access the college’s “Complete Schedule of Classes” at: http://www.barstow.edu/Schedule.html . The Spring Semester Registration for current students who plan to attend Spring Semester classes has already begun. Open Registration for all interested community members, 18 years of age and older, will begin on December 6, 2017.
