Located in the heart of the Mojave Desert of California, the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Barstow Community College is the new cultural hub of the High Desert. The PAC hosts a variety of events that are culturally diverse and welcomes the entire community to experience art and culture. The Barstow Community College Performing Arts Center is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all of its patrons and performers.
History:
Construction of the BCC Performing Arts Center began in October of 2010 and was set for completion in fall of 2012. After numerous construction halts, the PAC was finally completed in summer of 2014 and was greeted with a soft grand opening to kick off its first academic classes. Instrumental music classes were the first to move into the new facility, soon followed by vocal, piano, and theater classes the following spring semester.
Throughout the first academic semester there were many student performances and a production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
On February 21st, 2015 the PAC had its first major community event; its grand opening featuring The Fab Four, a Beatles tribute band. Gaining recognition from the community, the building hosted its second major event; the USAF Band of the Golden West a month later which was free to the public.
Both performances were sold-out and were praised for their success. The PAC team looks forward to hosting many more events throughout the year.
