Barstow Community College will provide one-time scholarships to qualifying students for the fall 2021 semester. Funding for the Finish Line Scholars Scholarship is provided through a grant received from the Foundation for California Community Colleges that was donated by the Jay Pritzker Foundation.
The goal of the Finish Line Scholars Program is to support students to ensure they stay on track with their education and complete a degree, certificate, or transfer to a four-year college or university. The program is intended to help eliminate regional educational gaps through distribution of emergency financial aid to students facing unexpected hardships and scholarships to students who are well on their way toward a finish line goal of transferring to a college or university or completing a certificate or degree.
Who is Eligible for a Finish Line Scholars Scholarship?
- Applicants cannot be dual-enrolled High School students
- Recipients of a California College Promise Grant (CCPG)
- A 2021-22 FAFSA or Dream Act application must be on file to determine CCPG eligibility
- Students with a goal of completing a certificate or degree program or transfer to a four-year college or university
- Full-time enrolled students (Full-time = enrolled in 12 or more units)
- Students who have completed at least half of the required credits toward their stated program of study.
- Example: For AA/AS/ADT programs, you must have completed at least 30-degree applicable units toward the required 60 units for the program.
- Students with an updated Student Educational Plan (SEP) on file for their declared program of study.
- The SEP must confirm you will be able to complete your program of study in under 2 academic years.
- Students who have completed at least 2 of the below requirements:
- Transfer Level English
- Transfer Level Math
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Students who submit a completed 2021-22 Finish Line Scholars Scholarship Application
How to Apply
- Meet all the aforementioned eligibility requirements
- Submit a completed 2021-22 Finish Line Scholars Scholarship Application by November 30, 2021
- Completed applications can be submitted to the Financial Aid Office via email at finaid@barstow.edu or dropped off in person to the Financial Aid Office

Award emails will be sent to the recipients Barstow.edu email address.
Disbursement of Funds
Scholarship funds will be mailed out to recipients via paper check to the address on file with Admissions & Records.

Incomplete and late applications will not be accepted.
Dual-enrolled High School students cannot be considered for a Finish Line Scholars Scholarship.
