Black History Month at Barstow Community College
"We must never forget that Black History is American History. The achievements of African Americans have contributed to our nation’s greatness." — Congresswoman Yvette Clarke
February marks a time of reflection, celebration, and action.
At Barstow Community College, Black History Month sets the tone for a year dedicated to uplifting Black voices, honoring Black excellence, and creating meaningful change. We begin the year with intentionality, launching events, workshops, and conversations that center the Black experience and affirm the brilliance of our students, staff, and faculty.
A Year of Intention Starts Here
Black History Month is the opening chapter of our ongoing commitment to equity, empowerment, and belonging. Through our Multicultural & Equity Communities, we’re creating space for joy, healing, and leadership, not just for a moment, but throughout the year.
What to Expect:
-
Student-led forums
-
Culturally responsive programming
-
Affirming spaces that promote leadership development
-
Opportunities to connect, grow, and lead
