FAQs

  • Do not come to campus.
  • Seek guidance from supervisor to discuss next steps. If you have additional questions, you should contact Lena Vargas at lvargas@barstow.edu, ext. 7232 in Human Resources.
  • Report your positive results on the BCC Self Reporting.
  • You may need to isolate for up to 10 days.
  • Isolation may end if:
    • You test negative, symptoms have significantly improved, and you are fever-free for 24 hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication).
    • At least 5 days have passed since onset of symptoms.
    • You followed up with HR before coming on campus.
  • If you have symptoms or have tested positive, please do not come to campus.
  • Report exposure on the BCC Self Reporting and communicate with supervisor and Human Resources.
  • Current guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the CDC apply.
    • If the guidance does not align the strictest guidance applies.
    • Guidance may include the following:
      • If no symptoms are present, no need to quarantine at this time.
      • Wear a mask for 10 days after exposure.
      • You should test after 5 days of exposure.
      • Monitor symptoms closely.
        • If you develop symptoms or test positive, DO NOT COME TO CAMPUS and follow guidance for testing positive for COVID-19.
  • You may choose to mask at any time.
  • Wear a well-fitting mask if you have been in close contact to someone with COVID-19.
  • If you or a family member are at high risk of getting sick.
  • You should isolate if you test positive for COVID-19.
  • If you are experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19.
  • You are cleared by Human Resources to return to campus.
  • A minimum of 5 days have passed since the onset of symptoms.
    • Your symptoms have significantly improved, and you have been fever free for 24 hours (without the use of fever reducing medication).
  • You test negative for COVID-19.
  • Rapid tests are available upon request through Human Resources.
  • Contact your health care provider.

  • No, COVID Leave expired on December 31, 2022.
  • Employees who need to take time off for a COVID related situation may use their available Sick or Vacation time.
  • Some departments may have remote work available. Please contact your supervisor if you believe you are feeling well enough to work remotely.
  • Employees may request PPE such as masks and hand sanitizer by completing a work order with maintenance and operations (M&O).
  • Employees may request an additional work area cleaning by completing a work order with maintenance and operations (M&O)
