2 Counseling Contacts
- Counseling appointments must be with an SPS Counselor. Meeting with a general or ACCESS counselor will NOT count towards your required Counseling Contacts!
- SPS Counselors are Michelle Colleoc, Lilia Franco, Isis Fuentes, Diana Sanchez, and Jessica Garcia.
- Click here to schedule your own counseling appointments or call (760) 252-2411 ext. 7255.
1 Staff Contact
- These contacts are to ensure that students are meeting their satisfactory academic progress. Staff will review your upcoming program requirements, check grades, and provide additional information to assist you. During your grade check, if you have low grades, you will be scheduled for an appointment to meet with a tutor for that course or meet with an SPS Counselor.
- Staff contacts must be with SPS Staff, not SPS Counselors. SPS Staff are Olivia Duran, Mattie Mendibles, Griselda (Grace) Montano, and Briann Garcia.
Units/GPA
- EOPS Students must maintain a full-time course load of twelve (12) units or more with a 2.0 semester GPA in Spring/Fall. Students that meet unit waiver qualifications from the ACCESS Program or the EOPS Director can be in less than full-time enrollment. (Summer is an optional semester for EOPS students).
Orientation
- In addition to the above program requirements, EOPS/CARE, NextUp and CalWORKs students must attend the yearly program orientation during the Fall semester to stay up-to-date with program changes. During the Fall orientation, students will sign a new Mutual Responsibility Contract that lists all of your program requirements.
Workshops
- EOPS/CARE and NextUp students are not required to complete workshops. However, workshops are optional if you would like to receive additional benefit cards.
- Only CalWORKs students are required to attend one (1) Career or Parenting Workshop.
- To receive workshop credit for any workshop, students must attend the entire workshop, complete the Workshop Form and have it signed by the presenter before submitting it to eops@barstow.edu.
- All workshops must be completed and submitted by the stated deadline dates.
