The Spring 2025 Transfer Academy Application is Now Closed.
At Barstow Community College, we understand that transferring to a four-year institution is a major milestone in a student’s academic journey. Our Transfer Academy program is designed to provide students with the guidance, resources, and encouragement needed to navigate the transfer process with confidence.
Through personalized counseling, monthly meetings and workshops, university partnerships, and financial guidance, our program ensures that students have the support they need to achieve their educational and career goals. Whether you are exploring potential transfer options, working on applications, or preparing for a seamless transition to your next institution, we are here to help you every step of the way.
Our goal is to empower students with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed decisions, maximize transfer opportunities, and successfully continue their academic pursuits at a four-year institution. We believe in your potential and are committed to making your transfer journey as smooth and successful as possible.
Vision
- To increase the number of students who apply for, receive acceptance to, and enroll in a four-year institution, especially disproportionately impacted populations.
Member Requirements:
- Attend a mandatory monthly meeting or workshop.
- Meet with two (2) four-year university representatives per semester.
- Complete two (2) virtual or in-person campus tours per semester.
- Meet with the Transfer Academy counselor at least once per semester.
Benefits of Joining Transfer Academy:
- Up to $200 in textbook assistance, per semester (based on financial need).
- Up to $50 in school supplies, per semester.
- Priority registration (Tier 2) for BCC classes.
- Up to $320 in 4-year university admission application fees.
- Free official transcripts.
- Priority to sign up for trips/tours hosted by the Transfer Center.
