Articulation at Barstow Community College
What is Articulation?
Articulation is a process that helps you transfer smoothly from a community college to a four-year university. It means that certain courses you take at Barstow Community College are considered equal to similar courses at a university. This allows you to meet university requirements by taking these equivalent (articulated) courses here.
However, some courses may only transfer as electives, meaning they don’t count toward general education or major requirements, even though the unit's transfer.
Barstow Community College has articulation agreements with many universities, including:
✅ University of California (UC)
✅ California State University (CSU)
✅ Private and out-of-state colleges and universities
These agreements make it easier for you to stay on track and reach your transfer goals!
What are Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)?
MOUs are signed agreements between two institutions, usually a community college and a four-year university. These agreements often provide extra benefits for students, such as:
✅ Application fee waivers
✅ Guaranteed admission
✅ Discounted tuition or special scholarship opportunities
✅ And more!
Make sure to review the MOUs below for full details on the benefits available.
What are Transfer Guides?
Transfer Guides show the required courses at the four-year university and their equivalent courses at Barstow Community College. These guides help you stay on track but always work with your counselor to confirm admission and transfer requirements!
