Disbursement Schedules

• The schedule above includes all planned disbursement dates. You likely will not receive funds on every date. Your actual disbursement depends on your enrollment status and the start dates of your classes.
• Federal regulations require refunds to be issued within 14 days of a financial aid disbursement. You can monitor your student account for your disbursement and refund. Refunds are typically deposited into your bank account (if a BankMobile Refund Preference was selected) within 3–5 business days after the refund is processed.
• Disbursement dates are tentative and subject to change based on the availability of federal and state funding.
• Financial aid is disbursed only to eligible students who have completed their financial aid file, been awarded aid, are enrolled in eligible courses, and are meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
• Pell Grant disbursements are based on your class start dates. Funds are disbursed only after each course begins. Courses that start more than 14 days after a scheduled disbursement date will be included in a later disbursement.
• Cal Grant disbursements are prorated based on your enrollment at the time of calculation. For Fall 2026, Cal Grant funds will not be available until September. The exact disbursement date depends on when funding is received from the State of California.

• Financial Aid Disbursements are made to eligible students who have a completed financial aid file, have been awarded aid, are enrolled in classes, and are meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
• Pell Grant Disbursements are based on your class start dates. Pell funds will only be disbursed once your enrollment has begun in each course. Classes that begin more than 14 days after the disbursement date will not be included in that disbursement.
• Cal Grant Disbursements are prorated according to your enrollment status at the time of calculation. For the Fall 2025 semester, Cal Grant funds will not be disbursed until September, and the specific disbursement date is dependent on the timing of funding received from the state.

All financial aid tasks must be submitted prior to the deadline dates specified on the appropriate Disbursement Schedule. Disbursements will be made to eligible students with complete financial aid files, have an approved program of study on file, who meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) per Barstow Community College’s SAP policy, and meet all of the other eligibility requirements as established by the institution and Federal and State agencies.

All student loan request documents must be submitted by October 31, 2025. Please note:

• No loan requests will be processed after this deadline.

• If you do not submit your loan request by October 31, you will not be eligible to receive a loan for the current semester or to apply retroactively in the next semester.

We encourage you to submit your documents as soon as possible to ensure timely processing. If you have any questions or need assistance with the process, please contact the Financial Aid Office before the deadline.

Pell Grant Disbursements are prorated based on enrollment status at the time of calculation. Award amounts are based on active enrollment.

Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) funds are disbursed after Cal Grant is paid in full. Eligible recipients must be registered in a minimum of 12 units to qualify.

Loan Disbursements: Loans are not disbursed in advance. Six (6) units of active enrollment (meaning the classes must have already begun) are required before disbursement. Entrance Counseling and an Active Master Promissory Note (MPN) listing Barstow Community College is required before disbursement as well.

Chafee Grant requires at least 6 units to qualify for disbursement. Chafee grant recipients must also be in good SAP standing.

The California College Promise Grant (CCPG) is a tuition waiver which waives enrollment fees for eligible students. It does not get disbursed directly to students.

You have the right to cancel all or a portion of your aid. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at finaid@barstow.edu for guidance on when it is appropriate to cancel your aid and how to do so.

Financial Aid will be disbursed to your account and applied to allowable charges. Any remaining aid will be mailed to you no later than 14 days after the date of disbursement.

You will only be paid for classes you are actively attending. Remaining in all your classes is critical to avoid repayment of funds.

If you receive a financial aid payment for a class and drop, or are instructor dropped, or earn all FWS grades, you may be required to repay a portion or the entire grant. Consult with the Financial Aid Office prior to dropping courses to determine how doing so will impact your financial aid eligibility.

The Disbursement Schedule is subject to change at any time without warning. All disbursement dates are contingent upon funding being made available to the institution by Federal and State Government agencies. Barstow Community College does not take responsibility for delays in receiving the funds due to technical difficulties.
