Mission
The LGBTQ+ Pride Committee at Barstow Community College is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where LGBTQ+ students can thrive academically, personally, and socially. We are committed to providing resources, opportunities, and advocacy to ensure students succeed throughout their educational journey and beyond. Through education, allyship, and the celebration of diverse experiences, we aim to foster a campus culture of belonging, pride, and respect.
Vision
Our vision is to make Barstow Community College and the High Desert a model of inclusivity and support, where LGBTQ+ students feel valued, respected, and heard. We strive to build a campus environment where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can fully engage and contribute. Through advocacy, education, and community-building, we aim to create lasting change by establishing year-round programming and initiatives that empower LGBTQ+ students to transition seamlessly into college life. This initiative will provide essential resources, support, and guidance, helping students achieve their academic and personal goals while fostering an environment where they can live authentically and confidently.
